IMPORTATION OF BIRDS Importation of turkeys and ducks are quite simple if direction is followed precisely. We are a Licensed USDA Establishment allowing us to receive birds and animals from foreign countries .We can accept whole frozen or salted skinned birds. Since most turkeys are going to be salted, They can take a hard plastic case or cooler like you would buy at Wal-Mart. A storage container for example. It will have to be kept closed with duct tape or a ratchet strap. Ducks and smaller birds are best frozen whole and brought back in coolers. Coolers are hard to come buy in any foreign country. You MUST travel with one as Luggage and simply fill it with gear and an extra duffle. On the return, simply fill the duffle with gear and load the cooler with birds! It is as easy as that. The Import papers are presented upon re entry. They will ask if you are declaring any plants or animals, you will say yes, they will then proceed to USDA and give them the 3-177 USFWS import forms. Each person will have a form filled out with his address, ETC, and number of turkey or birds. USDA will then Take the Plastic Carton / Cooler and Put a quarantine seal on it, then they will ship it to Our approved establishment. (FED Ex Air bills are available from me upon request) Give the USDA the air bill and they will send the birds over night to us. Then you will Reimburse us for the Shipment.If you decide to smuggle birds into the country you are risking confiscation of your birds and possible penalties. All birds must be quarantined and detoxed to ensure Newcastle disease, Avian Cholera, Hoof and Mouth and many other possible infectious diseases from entering our borders.
